Fred Thompson Will Inspire Us

Sometime last week I wrote this when I was inspired by a New York Times article about the less than rousing reception that Freddie" La-Z-Boy" Thompson has been getting after his stump speeches and I was just praying for their to be some proof of examples such as this
Twenty-four minutes after he began speaking in a small restaurant the other day, Fred D. Thompson brought his remarks to a close with a nod of his head and an expression of thanks to Iowans for allowing him to “give my thoughts about some things.”
Then he stood face to face with a silent audience.
“Can I have a round of applause?” Mr. Thompson said, drawing a rustle of clapping and some laughter.
“Well, I had to drag that out of you,” he said.

Well here's video evidence (thanks be to Ahura Mazda)

ah that is brilliant. And you know how when politicians go casual with no jacket and tie, open collar they still retain a touch of put togetherness? Yeah when Fred Thompson did it, at least in that video, he just looks really sloppy and sweaty. But I think I may actually fear him becoming the nominee. Maybe his less than inspiring style is also less polarizing and so when people go in the booth they forget anything he's campaigned about and just vote on his name. Imagine if this is some brilliant power he has to put everyone to sleep and make them complacent, so complacent they forget about election day and so forget to vote. Republicans usually benefit from low voter turnout. Fred Thompson and his sleeping gas composed hot air are totally the Republican's secret weapon.
Nah, probably not.
